Our September cover girl had to be special. She had to be a seasoned professional confident in her own skin, who retained that charisma that first captivated the world. Her fashion clout had to be strong enough to exist independently of trends, yet influential enough to keep her within the inner circles of the country’s fashion visionaries. She had to know fashion, but not be defined by fashion. Given the above criteria, who else would be our perfect September girl but KC Concepcion?
KC is worldly in a way that reveals her maturity, but she is eager in her knowledge that she will never stop growing up. In a cover story that bursts with color, an art pop wardrobe and signature KC flair, she drives the key theme of our fashion issue home: great fashion must exist within context, and that fashion moments become iconic because, at their heart, lives a beautiful story.
So, the rest of the pages of our fashion issue are devoted to helping you place fashion within the context of your own life, just like KC did. We not only infuse your work wardrobe with some revamped staples, but give you insider tips on how to impress your boss, build your online reputation, and make your passion your profession. We also celebrate body diversity and the many beautiful shapes we come in – and more importantly, we style it! For style inspiration, we look beyond the editorial pages and find the 10 most stylish young Pinoys in the real world!
Beauty is fashion’s other half and helps round out your day and date pickings. Get runway looks at ridiculous prices (we guarantee you’ll nail it!). Dark romance takes center stage as delicate tousled braids and pleats make friends with combat boots and leather for looks you – or your date – won’t forget.
September is also an exciting issue because we finally introduce our I am Meg: Season 2 contestants! Meet the Top 16 girls before catching them on screen, and you’ll see how they charmed us so easily.
Finally, we take a turn towards the darker side of fashion. Think you have what it takes to be a fashion intern? You might want to read what some former interns have had to say first (note: there may be crying). We get real with girls who try to live beyond their means, including one girl who went way too far with her shopping addiction.
All this and more in the September issue of Meg, available now!
