PAGEANT: Miss International 2013 is Miss Philippines!

I've been very busy the past week that I wasn't able to make an update for the Miss International 2013. But I'm very happy nonetheless for the honor brought by our representative, Miss Bea Rose Santiago. She won the crown! This year is definitely the most fruitful year for the Philippines in the world of 'pageants'. Isang pagpapatunay na hindi basta-basta ang gandang pinay!

I've listed 16 favorites before and I'm glad 11 of them made it to the top 15. Yay! What excited me most was that three of them even made it to the top 5 and managed to walk their way to the top.

Of course our very own, Bea Rose Santiago was crowned Miss International 2013. Nathalie den Dekker of the Netherlands and Casey Radley of New Zealand on the second and third spot.

The 53 edition of the Miss International pageant took place, for the second time around, in Japan on December 17, 2013.

For the first time in history of Miss International, the incumbent Titleholder Miss International 2012 Ikumi Yoshimatsu of Japan was barred from attending the event due to her involvement in a scandal where a media executive Genichi Taniguchi allegedly harassed and intimidated Ms. Yoshimatsu for not signing on to a talent agency with ties to the Japanese Yakuza or underworld. The winner was crowned by Miss International 2008 Alejandra Andreu.
