May 17 is International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia

Let's take part in celebrating sexual diversity all throughout the world and let us live together in peace and harmony as we step up against discrimination, inequality and abuse.

RESPECT... One BIG word to which every lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender has been longing for in our society and community. There is no better way to achieve peaceful living than to respect each and everyone's beliefs, ideas, thoughts and in this case, one's sexual preference.

RECOGNITION... What the LGBT community wants at this point in time is to be able to be recognized as part of the society. In the country, change is slowly taking place as I see many Filipinos recognizing and appreciating the contributions and talents of lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders on Philippine television. Slowly but surely! I look forward to that day when we are given equal rights and full freedom to enjoy the life we would like to live without the fear of rejection.

It has been my wildest dream to see discrimination against, lesbians, gays, bisexuals, and transgenders totally washed out in our society. It may not happen right away but I know it's POSSIBLE!
