Hosted by Megan Young, Xian Lim, Matteo Guidicelli and Kim Chiu, the twelve finalists were presented to a panel of judges chaired by Ogie Alcasid along with Jim Paredes, Louie Ocampo, August Benites, Jett Pangan, Olivia Lamasan, Freddie Agular, Cory Vidanes, Jed Madela, Freddie M. Garcia, and Sarah Geronimo.
I'm glad text votes were not solely the determining factor of whoever won the competition or else, the winning entry would have been very obvious just looking at the special awards which almost all of it were based on "fan" votes. (no offense meant!)
I believe choosing "Anong Nangyari Sa Ating Dalawa" was a very good choice. "Tagos sa Puso", literally! And Aiza Seguerra did great interpreting the song. Although, I've been rooting for Erik Santos's "This Song is For You", KZ Tandingan's "Scared to Death" and Marion Aunor's "If You Ever Change Your Mind" but really I don't mind Aiza Seguerra's "Anong Nagyari Sa Ating Dalawa" named the winner.
Moreover, what really touched my heart were the stories behind those twelve songs coming from the writers themselves. It's amazing how simple dreams, a li'l hoping and even sad experiences transformed into beautiful compositions!

Good thing it was not solely base on text vote/poll.....my golly!! dj is good, but not enough to be named as winner....duh?!! it is not a popularity contest after all, so for those fantards claiming that they were cheated, please do realize the importance and real meaning of P-POp music. It's not "just" about being "trendy" or easy to memorized, but to be remembered/touched by the songs presence. I doubt if the song could ever get an award if not for dj's delivery, knowing those fantards....they were only after the looks!SERIOUSLY??? accept the fact that he's not deserving to be the grand winner. I suggest that ABS should have a Mr. POGI/ PA-CUTE CONTEST!!! no doubt...dj's category are on this!!
ReplyDeleteYes. I don't hold any grudge to Daniel Padilla but I believe he did a good job interpreting the song. It's a feel-good song and cute however, there are better songs among the 12 finalists which fits very well with the specified criteria for judging.
